Worlds Normal Life or God’s New Life
Worlds Normal Life
Too many people get born again and baptized and then go back to living the life they had before being born again. This is what the world calls a ‘normal life’. They have no understanding of the magnitude of what’s happened to them.
All they seem to know is that they have accepted Jesus as their Savior which they’re sure is wonderful. However, they’re not certain what good it does except now they identify as Christians.
The only difference it seems to make is on Sundays when they attend church, the rest of the week walking around without understanding the power within them that is so mighty and so catastrophic to the works of Satan, and they’re doing almost nothing with it. They need to transform their lives by renewing their minds every day with the Word of God.
God’s New Life
The Bible says: “What agreement has the temple of God with Idols, for you are the temple of the living God. God has also said: “I will live in them and walk in them. I will be their God, and they shall be my people.” Therefore, come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord…” (2 Corinthians 6:16-17) MEV.
You might know what that passage means. But the Scriptures are full of revelations that would shock you if you could get a hold of them. When you are born again it’s about a brand-new life. Your old life before being born again is to be left in the past and you need to learn about what your new life entails. You are like a new baby and must learn how to grow in your new life.
As born-again believers, you need a far greater understanding of how life-changing this new life is and the meaning of what your daily walk should be like. It’s not normal as usual, it can be very exciting when walking with God each day.
Operating in His power
That can be said about most of us at various times. Even if we know a little more about operating in His power, we’ve barely scratched the surface of what He can do.
This entails reading the scriptures, meditating on them, memorizing them to help confront temptations, and praying constantly throughout the day. It’s talking to Jesus and the Father about gaining understanding in your walk with them.
That might sound to you like something difficult, but the truth is just the opposite. God’s is love and there’s nothing bad in Him. His goodness is so absolute that when it comes to talking with Him, He looks forward to communication with His children.
Under the Old Covenant, sin hadn’t been washed away by the blood of Jesus, so direct contact with God never happened. However, Jesus came to redeem us back to the Father by giving His life to pay the price for our sins and as a result He has opened direct communication between us and God.
When Jesus died and God raised Him up, Satan and his demonic hosts were stripped of their dominion over the earth. No wonder the Bible says that if Satan and his bunch had known what was going to happen, “None of the rulers of this age knew it. For had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.” (1 Corinthians 2:8) MEV.
Satan’s Worst Nightmare
On the Day of Pentecost while 120 believers were praying in the upper room in Jerusalem: “Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting. There appeared to them tongues as of fire, being distributed and resting on each of them. And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak in other tongues, as the Spirit enabled them to speak” (Acts 2:2-4) MEV. That’s when things got even worse for Satan.
That was when the war against the devil’s deception began! Those believers got baptized and totally immersed in the Spirit of power. They didn’t just go back
to living normal lives after it happened, either. They emerged from that place as separate from the rest of the world as light from darkness.
The world was turning upside down as they went out and started preaching the gospel for Jesus, worked miracles, signs and wonders, and the Lord added thousands of those who were being saved to the Church daily. But that was the early Church where things were different back then, you might think. But no, they were no different than us today! We received the same Spirit when we got saved as those first believers received. We are carriers of God’s glory just as surely as they were!
That’s why Romans 6:4 MEV says to us, “Therefore we were buried with Him by baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.” We’ve been born again by and baptized with the very same glory that resurrected Jesus. As Ephesians 5:8 MEV says, “You were formerly darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light”
What light? The light of the glory of The Lord!
What Jesus was telling us?
Just before Jesus went to the cross, He explained it to the disciples this way: 10 “Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority. But the father who lives in me does the works. 12 Truly, truly I say unto you, he that believes in Me will do the works that I do also. and he will do greater works than these because I am going to my father. 23 Jesus answered him “If a man loves me, he will keep My word. My Father will love him, and We will come to him, and make our home with him” (John 14:10, 12, 23) MEV.
He was prophesying that after the Crucifixion and resurrection, the same Father who lived in Him and did supernatural works on earth would come to dwell in and do supernatural works through us who believe. Once-ordinary people like you and me would become temples filled with the power of God. We’d do the works of Jesus and even greater works then Jesus did.
Keep Going in the Glory and Be the Light
This is what Habakkuk meant when he said, “For the earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord…” (Habakkuk 2:14) MEV. He wasn’t talking about a cloud coming down from heaven. He wasn’t saying power would come down out of the sky like it did on Mount Sinai. Habakkuk was prophesying about the Church.
The power of God’s glory coming out of us as we witness for Christ is what’s going to saturate the earth! We will show forth God’s glory right here and now, so millions of the lost can witness it and be swept into God’s kingdom.
Why are we not seeing more of it at this time? We haven’t grabbed hold of the revelation of it. We haven’t understood enough of this glory that lives in us. The more you understand it, the more it will manifest and work in your life.
God-inside minded
You must become more God-inside minded! God is living in us all the time, so you need to develop your awareness of that fact. Instead of concentrating on sin, you should be believing more of your righteousness in Him.
You must be continually reminding yourself; I’ve been made the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus. In God’s eyes, I’m right with Him. I walk in His rightness. I can fellowship with Him all day long, all the time. What if you miss it and sin? Then repent. God has already provided forgiveness for you. Just receive it, toss the sin out of your life and keep going in the glory.
Read the bible with a new perspective. While you’re at it, search it constantly for what Jesus can do for you, focus on what He can do through you. When you read Gospel accounts put yourself in Jesus’ place. Begin to realize the same power that flowed from Him will flow out of you if you’ll recognize that power and expect manifestation to appear.
Out pouring of God’s power
We’re living in the last days, and these are the days God was talking about when He said: “…that I will pour out of my Spirit on all flesh…. even on My manservants and maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days; and they shall prophesy: And I will show wonders in heaven above and signs on the earth below…before the great and glorious day of the Lord comes. And whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Acts 2:17-21) MEV.
That’s an end time outpouring of God’s power, and now is the time for it to happen! So now say it by faith, “The power is in me! I receive it! I’m walking in it!” Get more God-inside minded and start acting like a temple of The Lord of glory!
According to the New Testament, such things should be happening to us all the time. Make up your mind never to settle for normal again.
