The measure of the faith
Every born-again person has been given the measure of the faith of God. While God lives in you through His Holy Spirit, you retain God’s faith. You received this faith and His Holy Spirit into your life when you accepted Jesus Christ as your savior and Lord.
“For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think with sound judgment, according to the measure of faith God has distributed to every man.” (Romans 12:3) MEV.
The beginning of your faith
The beginning of your faith in everything is when you receive a revelation of God’s love! Faith doesn’t work without love because God is love; until you believe this in your heart, the lack of love will prevent your faith from making things happen.
There are laws of faith that must be followed for faith to work. Because faith is a powerful, creative, spiritual force, you must work faith in God’s way, not your way. The only way it will work is when you are walking and speaking in the faith of God.
Jesus explained how faith works, “Jesus answered them. “Have faith in God. For truly I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be removed and be thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, he will have whatever he says. Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you will receive them, and you will have them.” (Mark 11:22-24) MEV.
God is Love
John understood God’s love. He knew Jesus loved him. John wrote a book in the New Testament describing God’s love and the way Love functions. To gain the same understanding, you need to read, study, and meditate on the complete book of 1 John.
Here are a couple of examples John wrote about the love of God:
“Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God, and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God. Anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love.” (1 John 4:7-8) MEV
“And we have come to know and to believe the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. In this way God’s love is perfected in us, so that we may have boldness on the Day of Judgment, because as He is, so are we in the world. There is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. Whoever fears is not perfect in love.” (1 John 4:16-18) MEV.
God doesn’t just have love; God is Love!
You have to train yourself to remember that God is Love. When you say God, you are saying Love. Practice renewing your mind. “Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” (Romans 12:2) MEV.
Corrupted word ‘love’
The English language has corrupted the word ‘love’ from its original Greek words. There are at least 8 different words for love in the Greek, each with a distinct meaning:
- Eros: is physical love or sexual desire. It is the type of love that involves passion, lust, and/or romance.
- Philia: is affectionate love. It is the type of love that involves friendship.
- Ludus: is playful, noncommittal love, covers things like flirting, seduction, and casual sex.
- Agape: In the New Testament the word is used to describe the love that God has for humanity and the love humanity has for God.
- Pragma: is practical love based on duty, obligation, or logic. It is the unsexy love that you might find in the political, arranged marriages throughout history.
- Philautia: is self-love and refers to how a person views themselves and how they feel about their own body and mind.
- Storge: is familial love. Itis the natural love that family members have for one another.
- Mania: is the kind of “love” that a stalker feels toward their victim. It is excessive love that reaches the point of obsession or madness.
The word ‘love’ should be reserved for God and people. You should avoid saying that you love things, but rather you like things. To acquire a higher revelation of God’s love, train yourself to correctly use the word ‘love’.
God loves you at all times regardless of what you do or say, His love won’t change even if you should turn your back on Him through disobedience, and sin.
The proof is in how God’s great love for people caused Him to send Jesus to die for everyone.
“While we were yet weak, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. Rarely for a righteous man will one die. Yet perhaps for a good man some would even dare to die. But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. (Romans 5:6-8) MEV.
Doubt and unbelief
You open a door to the devil to work in your life when you say faith doesn’t work for you. You are in a bad place then because you are actually admitting that you have weak faith in God, and you don’t believe or trust Gods Word.
Don’t blame God for your doubt and unbelief. Believers will say that God loves them, but when trouble comes, they doubt His love. They don’t believe He will do anything for them.
When the disciples were sinking in the storm they doubted Jesus’ love, they said to Jesus, “Don’t You care?” “He was in the stern asleep on a pillow. They woke Him and said “Teacher, do You not care that we are perishing?” (Mark 4:38) MEV. Believe the love, not the lie, feed your belief in God’s love. Say it; believe it!
The Word of God is the Word of life and love
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were created through Him, and without Him nothing was created that was created. In Him was life, and the life was the light of mankind. The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not overcome it.” (John 1:1-5) MEV.
God is our life and our deliverer, because of His love He gave Himself for you. Have faith and believe in the love of God, no matter what things look like, nor what you hear from the devil or your own mind.
We need to know and understand fully that God loves us! The one who loves God has God living inside them. Having an intimate knowledge of the love of God is knowing Him and believing in Him and speaks volumes.
