Understanding the Working of Faith
Every born-again believer has God’s faith
Every born-again believer has God’s faith, and to understand how faith works, we must look at what Jesus taught about believing and speaking. People are created to speak, but they speak from fear or faith. As the old saying goes ‘what you say, you will get’ is quite accurate.
Faith came and you were born again by hearing God’s word, you believed and accepted it. “So then, faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17) MEV.
Unbelievers don’t have faith in God. They have natural, human faith. “And pray that we may be delivered from unreasonable and wicked men for not all men have faith.” (2 Thessalonians 3:2) MEV.
The Word of God strengthens faith
Believers are given the measure of faith. “…but to think with sound judgment, according to the measure of faith God has distributed to every man.” (Romans 12:3) MEV. The measure of faith is in you right now, and to grow and strengthen your faith, you must continue to feed on the Word of God. “…It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds out of the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4).
Faith will come automatically and grow if you stay in God’s Word and don’t allow yourself to say anything contrary to God’s Word. Keep speaking the word and keep acting on it for it to come to fruition.
Understand the working of faith
We must consider what Jesus taught about faith to understand how faith works. (Mark 11:22-26).
If you do consistently what the Word says to do you will move from having “no faith” to having “faith that will move mountains”. When you pray, believe you receive what you pray for, and you shall have it.
You must believe in your heart that what you say happens, believe that you receive by saying the words, “I believe that I receive what I have prayed for.” Of course, what you pray for must be in line with the Word of God, not so you can consume it upon your lusts.
Jesus didn’t emphasize believing in this situation; He emphasized saying. Speak what you want. Most people are not used to saying good things about themselves.
Spiritual laws cause things to work
People were created to speak. They either speak from fear or faith. When people speak from fear, they will have what they say, they don’t realize they are causing what they fear to become a reality.
Spiritual laws cause things to work. Spiritual laws can’t be changed. You either operate by the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus, or by the law of sin and death.
There is power in the integrity and the law of words. Your words release the force of faith or fear, every time you speak. Fear is faith in the law of sin and death. People have practiced it, and they’re familiar with it. It’s called worry.
Faith is belief
Faith is the belief that God will do what He said He will do. Meditate on God’s Word, God’s will, and say it because you believe it, and you will have it.
When Thomas was told that Jesus was alive, Thomas said he wouldn’t believe unless he saw, he was not using faith. When he could see, he would believe (John 20:24-29).
Jesus said that those who see by faith, without seeing in the natural, are blessed.
The Word of God comes to life when you receive it! You have to decide to believe. When you pray, believe! Say it and you will receive it!
Determine to speak words of faith, not fear. When you say something fear-based, cast it down, confess, and repent to correct yourself and speak faith in every situation.
